Executive and Leadership:
- Sayed Abdullah Hashimi, Re-Founder and General Director of the Organization: Providing insightful leadership with extensive experience in community development, as reflected in his biography.
Sayed Abdullah Hashimi, Founder and President of the Organization: Sayed Abdullah Hashimi was born in 1980 (1359 in the Afghan calendar) in an intellectual family in Panjshir province. He lost his father during the Soviet-Afghan War and spent his childhood without paternal care, growing up as an orphan. During his adolescence, while attending school, he was also responsible for supporting his family financially. Despite the hardships of losing his father and facing poverty, with the support and upbringing of his mother, who acted as both a parent and his greatest supporter, he overcame these challenges.
Hashimi’s intelligence and dedication were always recognized by his teachers, and in 2000 (1379), he completed school with honors. In 2001 (1380), he began his higher education in Geography at Kabul University, graduating in 2004 (1383). During his studies, he was an active participant in student activities and organized gatherings to defend students’ rights and positions in both the university and society.
In 2005 (1384), based on his passion for change, he founded a social and cultural organization called “Solidarity Association of Afghanistan’s Future Builders.” Through this platform, he engaged in social and cultural activities among the youth in Kabul, organizing gatherings, meetings, and educational centers. That same year, he courageously ran for a seat in Kabul’s Provincial Council, where he became acquainted with more youths and cultural figures. He dedicated himself to social justice and advocating for the rights of young people in Afghanistan.
In 2012 (1391), Hashimi obtained his master’s degree in Political Science from the Islamic Azad University of Afghanistan. Between 2005 and 2008 (1385-1388), he worked as the Director of Social Affairs, Martyrs, and Disabled Persons in Panjshir Province. During this time, he worked closely with national and international organizations to support impoverished families and children at risk, creating job opportunities and centers for vocational training, kindergartens, and orphanages.
In 2008 (1388), Hashimi became the Director of Social Affairs, Martyrs, and Disabled Persons in Kunduz Province, continuing his efforts to support children, families of martyrs, and people with disabilities. He established job centers, vocational programs, and expanded kindergartens, providing work for thousands of impoverished individuals.
In 2009 (1389), he was appointed Director of Rural Development in Panjshir Province. During his tenure, he initiated and implemented numerous projects for local development, such as constructing bridges, expanding roads, and building small hydropower stations, leaving an unforgettable mark on the people of Panjshir.
From 2011 to 2016 (1390-1395), Hashimi served as the General Director of Orphanages in Afghanistan. He introduced significant reforms in orphanages, including sending hundreds of young people, especially girls, abroad for further education, improving education, health systems, and vocational programs. His efforts to combat administrative corruption and support orphans were unprecedented in the history of Afghanistan’s orphanages.
In 2020 (1399-1400), he served as the Director of Monitoring Violence Reduction and Ceasefire at the Ministry of Peace Affairs. He collaborated with human rights organizations to defend the rights of non-combatants and established a National Committee for War Victims to document their stories and advocate for their rights.
Sayed Abdullah Hashimi has over 15 years of experience in civil, social, and human rights activities. His efforts have primarily focused on supporting youth, women, and children, raising social awareness, and promoting justice. He also founded the “National Youth Assembly of Afghanistan” in 2007, leading it to engage in social, cultural, and democratic activities across 24 provinces, mobilizing over ten thousand young volunteers to strengthen democracy and fight ignorance.
Under his leadership, the assembly organized thousands of programs, such as national conferences, seminars, and workshops, aimed at supporting the youth. This effort resulted in training hundreds of young leaders, both men and women, in the cultural, social, and civil sectors.
As one of the new generation’s leaders, with a deep understanding of the Afghan people’s economic struggles, Hashimi aims to continue his service to society through the Afghan Zamin Educational and Development Assistance Organization by providing educational, vocational, and job opportunities for women, youth, and children to improve their livelihoods.
