Afghan Zamin Educational and Development Assistance Organization
Afghan Zamin Educational and Development Assistance Organization (AFZENDA), formerly known as Zindabad Afghanistan, was established on October 15, 2007 by Mary Macmakin, as a non-governmental, non-profit organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan. It is also registered in the United States as a 501-C3 non-profit organization. After a period of halted activities, AFZENDA, through the dedicated efforts of Mohammad Yasin Farid, Said Abdullah Hashimi, and other committed individuals, was re-registered as a National NGO with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, reaffirming its commitment to Afghan society.
AFZENDA, as a beacon of hope and development in Afghanistan, adheres to the country’s laws and prioritizes integrity towards its stakeholders. Focusing on providing educational opportunities, enhancing social care, and advancing projects in healthcare, environmental protection, and agriculture, AFZENDA particularly aims to serve the underprivileged segments of society. The organization collaborates with national and international institutions to create substantial job opportunities, particularly for women, and implements structured programs in key sectors vital for Afghanistan’s development. With the support of skilled advisors and experts, AFZENDA effectively contributes to curriculum development, project management, research, and surveys, impacting education, social services, skill development, health, and agriculture.
AFZENDA’s collaboration with the Ministry of Education and sectoral departments in educational, training, and health fields extends to schools and communities, alongside its commitment to developing professional programs, production workshops for women, and support initiatives for farmers. The goal is to cultivate a self-reliant and educated Afghan society. At the heart of AFZENDA’s mission is the belief in the transformative power of education, social, and economic support to pave the way for scientific, social, and economic self-sufficiency. The organization is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Afghan leaders and providing innovative solutions to support women, families, youth, and girls with limited access to opportunities.
Guided by its values, AFZENDA ensures that all activities align with the prevailing laws and traditions of Afghan society. The organization’s broad objectives include social services and skill development, education, healthcare, environmental protection, agriculture, irrigation, and livestock development. These goals are achieved through the establishment of educational centers, vocational workshops, health training centers, and more.
