Sayed Abdullah Hashemi was born in 1359 in an educated family in the Panjshir province of Afghanistan. He lost his father during the war against the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan and spent his childhood as an orphan without his father’s support.
During his adolescence, alongside his studies, he took on the responsibility of providing for his family and had to work to meet the family’s expenses. The absence of his father, coupled with financial difficulties, created numerous challenges for him. However, with the loving support and upbringing of his mother, who acted as his father, and greatest supporter, he was able to overcome all the difficulties of life through relentless efforts and emerged successful from this period of his life.
During his teenage and young adult years, due to his high intelligence and sharp wit, he was always admired by teachers and school administration. In 1379, he completed his school education with the highest grade and began his higher education in the field of geography at Kabul University in 1380. receiving his degree in 1383. He was an active figure in student activities during his time in university. His student activities and organizing gatherings to defend the rights and position of students in the university and society were among his priorities.
Based on these activities and efforts, in 1384, he established a social and cultural organization under the name “Solidarity Society for Afghanistan’s Future Builders.” Through this organization, he worked on social and cultural activities among the young generation in Kabul by organizing meetings, gatherings, and educational centers. In the same year, with courage and belief in change, he became a candidate for the Kabul Provincial Council. During the electoral struggles, he became more familiar with the youth and intellectuals and made the greatest effort to ensure social justice and defend the rights of young people in the country. He prepared himself to serve the people of Afghanistan through civil activities and participation in government structures to be able to serve the people of Afghanistan more effectively.
With these actions, he transformed into a brave and inspiring individual and a dynamic leader in various social and cultural fields among the new generation of the country.
Sayed Abdullah Hashemi worked as the head of work and social affairs for the martyrs and disabled in Kunduz province from late 2009. By implementing appropriate strategies and establishing job placement centers, vocational training centers, and developing kindergartens in the area, he provided significant support to the children, heirs of martyrs, and the disabled, creating employment opportunities for thousands of underprivileged individuals.
Then, in 2010, he worked for six months as the head of the revival and development of districts in Panjshir province. Through planning and implementing various development projects at the village and district levels, he provided valuable services to the communities through national solidarity programs and rural development plans.
From 2011 to 2016, Sayed Abdullah Hashemi served as the general director of Afghan orphanages. During this time, he carried out fundamental activities in supporting orphaned children, including sending 259 youths to foreign countries for further education and improving the educational system. Additionally, he organized health and sports programs and fought against administrative corruption.
Mr. Seyed Abdullah Hashemi worked as the head of the Supervision of Violence Reduction and Ceasefire at the Ministry of State for Peace from 1399 to 1400. In this capacity, he worked closely with human rights organizations to establish a National Committee of War Victims comprised of representatives of victims from across the country and human rights defenders This committee took valuable steps towards documenting untold stories of victims highlighting the active presence of victims in conflict resolution and seeking justice for the rights of this forgotten group.
Hashemi, as one of the leaders of the new generation, with more than a decade of civil, social, and human rights activities, and work in various government agencies, has been most active in supporting youth, women, and children, and raising public awareness and ensuring social justice. All these efforts have been widely disseminated through national and international media and social networks.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, in 2007 he established and has since led the “National Youth Assembly of Afghanistan” with a group of elite and informed youth. Through this assembly, he has carried out valuable activities at the national level in the areas of social and cultural development, strengthening people’s sovereignty culture, supporting women and youth, defending the rights of young people, strengthening national unity among different groups, and mobilizing educated youth. A notable example of these activities is the mobilization of over ten thousand educated youth, both men and women, in over 24 provinces of Afghanistan to strengthen the culture of people’s sovereignty and confrontation against ignorance and raise public awareness. Reports on these achievements have been widely disseminated through print and audio-visual media and are still available in their archives.
In 2017, after a decade of activity, they convened a congress comprising 450 elected representatives from 24 provinces of Afghanistan. They made decisions about plans and changing the name of the movement. Following this, a historic meeting took place and the name “National Assembly of Afghan Youth” was changed to “National Assembly of Afghanistan”. Within this framework, thousands of diverse programs have been launched in various fields, including national conferences, meetings, workshops, seminars, gatherings, and hundreds of supportive programs for youth. The result of these efforts is the cultivation of hundreds of young leaders, both women and men, in the cultural, social, and civil domains of the country.
Hashemi, as one of the leaders of the new generation with a deep understanding of the economic conditions and situation of the people of Afghanistan, has taken on the leadership responsibility of the AFZENDA-O institution. Through this, he aims to, in the current circumstances, fulfill his responsibility as a responsible citizen by supporting women, youth, and children in providing educational and employment opportunities and improving the economic situation of families.
